2013 Isuzu D-Max

SuperPro’s philosophy before releasing any components to market is – and always has been – one of extensive testing and field trials. Consequently, the company’s strapline for its 4x4 products is no idle phrase: ‘Developed for the road. Proven off road’.

We purchased our own Isuzu D-Max back in early 2014 as a long-term test vehicle to prove that you can take a solid and reliable pick-up and massively improve its capabilities on-road, without reducing its off-road "go anywhere" ability. No other car we've owned has proven the point better than this vehicle!

After we purchased the vehicle, it was immediately fitted with a full SuperPro bush kit to provide the best possible foundation to any suspension setup. 3 months later we upgraded it with a development 40mm lift & handling kit. The handling kit includes Bilstein front struts and rear dampers, King Springs progressive-rate front springs, replacement 7-leaf rear springs, replacement rear shock absorbers and the addition of a rear anti-roll bar. Despite giving the benefit of incredible handling and comfort, the off-road ability was not compromised, in fact, articulation and ground-clearance are better than standard. The Result

This car does not drive or ride like a pick-up, let alone one that has been lifted 40mm. It has saloon car like handling with precise steering, much reduced body roll & exceptional rear control whether empty, laden or towing. Gone is the typical pick-up choppy ride quality it now feels firm but controlled and is well received by drivers and passengers alike.

The car had done 161,000 miles by the time it left us and still drove considerably better than a new standard car!

Early-2014

Car Purchased from Isuzu in standard factory spec.
Full SuperPro bush kit fitted.

Mid-2014

Fitted Full Suspension 40mm Lift Kit featuring SuperPro anti-roll bars, Bilstein dampers, King Springs front springs and some prototype progressive rate rear leaf springs.

Mid-2014 to April 2019

Our D-Max was extensively used as a daily driver by our South West Territory Manager, Robert Hayward and covered more than 160,000 miles with a mixture of on-road and off-road use.

It featured as a off-road demonstrator at the 4X4 and Pick-up Show at Stoneleigh Park in 2018 and left many customers impressed with its blend of capabilty, comfort and control.

April 2019

Our trusty D-Max has moved on to a new home with a very happy new owner in order to make way for our 2019 Toyota Hilux InvincibleX which is undergoing a similar program of modifications to improve upon its already impressive breadth of abilities.
